**Guests should park in the lower parking lot (near the playground). Check-in will be in the Y building.

Sections:
Unrated beginner section (for new chess players)
K – 3rd grade & USCF rating under 600
K – 6th grade & USCF rating under 800
K – 8th grade & USCF rating under 1000
K-12th grade / Open

Participants may play in a higher section, but not below their grade level.
Section assignments may be adjusted based on number of participants.

Entry Fee - Rated Sections: $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
Entry Fee - Unrated Section: $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Register online and pay by mail or Venmo

Mail payment (payable to HPCS) to HPCS Attn: Chess, 875 State Park Rd, Greenville SC 29609.

Advance payments should be received by December 10, 2021.

***USCF membership required for rated sections. Memberships may be purchased or renewed at https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess.

Format: 4 rounds, G/30, Swiss System – no one is eliminated, but byes may occur.
Players may request a bye in advance for 1/2 point for one round.

Prizes: Trophies to the top six in each rated section. Medals to the top six in the unrated section.

Check-in: 9:00 - 9:30 am
***Sets provided; please bring a clock if you have one.

Tournament Schedule & Time Control: G/30

Round 1 - 9:45- 10:45

Round 2 - 11:00- 12:00

**LUNCH - 12:00 – 1:00 **Pizza and concessions available on site. Restaurants are nearby.

Round 3 - 1:00- 2:00

Round 4 - 2:15 – 3:15
