BORDER BATTLE 2008:  A match between the N.C. & S.C. State Champions!

This will be a four game match with the first two contested at the Asian Library at 1339 Baxter St in Charlotte (Home of the Queen City Chess Association) on April 5th and 6th. Games will be 40/2 then G/60 and will start at 1PM each day. THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO WATCH. Other tournament play will be available during the match. Go to www.queencitychess.com for more details.

NOTICE...BORDER BATTLE GAME #3 will now be played on Friday, April 11, in Columbia, South Carolina at the Wingate by Wyndham , 217 Lanneau Court. The game will begin at 3 pm. The hotel is located behind Fazolis (Italian fast food restaurant) on Columbiana Dr., also across the street from Columbiana Mall and next to the Carmike theater.

Game 3 Live:  April 11, 3:00 pm

This change is to accommodate Chris Mabe who is playing on the on-line Champion of Champions tournament between the state champions. The winner of that tournament will qualify to play in the U.S. Chess Championship in Oklahoma.

NOTICE...BORDER BATTLE GAME #4 will now be played on Sunday, April 13, at the Hampton Inn, 15 Park Woodruff Drive, Greenville, S.C. The game will begin at 1 p.m. as originally planned. The hotel is located on the southwest side of the I-385/Woodruff Rd. exit behind IHOP on Woodruff Rd.

Game 4 Live:  April 13, 1:00 pm

Tiebreak games, if necessary will be held on May 17 in Columbia, SC.
